TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following are the terms of a legal agreement between you and Warrington PC Doctor.

  1. AUTHORISATION

The client (You) authorises Warrington PC Doctor to conduct a diagnostic evaluation of the machine sent to determine the nature of the damage and provide an estimate of repair cost and timing.

This diagnostic evaluation is £35.00. This will be put towards your invoice if Warrington PC Doctor completes the work and no work beyond this evaluation will be charged without explicit client approval.

  1. LEGAL RIGHTS

The client is the legal owner or authorised representative of the legal owner of the property and all data and components contained therein sent to Warrington PC Doctor

Warrington PC Doctor will comply with the Torts (Interference with goods act 1977). We will make every effort to contact the client and issue relevant notices before the disposal of any goods left with us occurs.

We always appreciate goods being collected in a reasonable timeframe as storage space is limited. After 7 days we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £1 per day and after 60 days after numerous attempts to contact you to resolve the goods will be disposed of to cover the costs of any work carried out.

  1. LIMITED LIABILITY

St Helens PC Doctor shall not be liable for any claims regarding the physical functioning of equipment/media supplied before the service. If Warrington PC Doctor notices any defects in any hardware (not limited to, but including keys missing from a laptop keyboard, screws missing from a screen bezel), it will be documented on your work order. We will not be held responsible for any other faults we find in the diagnosis of the machine.

In rare circumstances, components can fail whilst under diagnostic evaluation and testing, Warrington PC Doctor will not be responsible for any device or component that fails during this work.

  1. CONFIDENTIALITY

Warrington PC Doctor agrees not to disclose any and all information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from the client’s equipment subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law. Warrington PC Doctor abides by the Data Protection Act.

  1. PAYMENT

Payment is due in full upon completion of successful repair, prior to the release of the repaired machine (whether shipped or picked up), unless by special previous arrangement. The customer is financially responsible for all shipping costs, customs duties and taxes to and from Warrington PC Doctor. We accept Cash, Credit and Debit Cards and bank transfer as payment for work completed.

  1. WARRANTY

We offer a 10-day warranty on virus/malware removals only. The reason for this is that once the machine leaves us users of the machine could click on links inadvertently or download something that re-infects the machine. If your computer suffers from the same fault regarding virus/ malware then return it to us within 10 days and we will carry out further work to remove without any additional charges.

We offer a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty on all hardware purchased in the course of a repair of a Laptop, Computer or Games Console. Warrington PC Doctor makes no warranty on data, express or implied, and Warrington PC Doctor disclaims any data warranty of any kind. All parts are warranted against manufacturing defects, if we/our suppliers find that the parts have been damaged rather than defective then all Warranty is Null and Void.

We offer a 6-month parts and labour RTB warranty on all new and refurbished computers and laptops. This warranty does not apply if the refurbished notebook or desktop computer has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse or negligence. If any evidence of misuse has been noticed then all warranty is null and void.

Warranty is void if the computer has had its serial number label tampered with, altered, defaced or removed.

  1. YOUR IMPORTANT DATA

Your data is important and it is your personal responsibility to protect and back it up. Warrington PC Doctor will not be held liable for any data lost or corrupted before, during or after service. Warrington PC Doctor can back up your important data for you if so required. There will be a charge for this service of 1 hours labour currently £35.

  1. WINDOWS LICENCE KEY

If at any point, we need to reformat your computer or laptop, we will require the original licence key, and recovery media in order for us to effect the repair. If there is no licence key available, then no further work will be done until such time, as either a new copy of Microsoft Windows Operating System is purchased, or it is agreed for Warrington PC Doctor to contact the manufacturer of your computer and request recovery media for the computer. You (the client) will be charged for the recovery media if it is required. Or it is agreed that a version of Linux can be installed. If you (the customer) do not wish to purchase a copy of windows or purchase the required recovery media then no further work will be undertaken, and the customer will be charged for the time spent to that point – i.e. a maximum of 1 hours labour (£35.00).

Warrington, will NOT install crack codes, keygens, or shareware programs, such as Limewire, Kazaa, Bear Share. We also will not Install any version of windows, with a crack code. If we note that your computer has an unlicensed installation of Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office, we will stop all work and advise you.

Warrington PC Doctor will NOT install a crack copy of Microsoft Office. We can install a 60 day / 28 use trial version of Office (whichever comes first). If you require Microsoft Office after the trial has finished, you (the client) are required to purchase a licence in order to use the program. We can install a free office programme for you that works in a very similar way to Microsoft Office.

  1. NO FIX, NO FEE POLICY

Our no, fix no fee policy means that if we do not possess the necessary technical knowledge or ability to resolve the problem or effect the repair, then no charge is made to the customer.

If we are able to resolve the problem or effect the repair but are only prevented from doing so by the customer requesting us not to proceed with the work, then the customer is charged for our time spent to that point – i.e. a maximum of 1 hours labour (£35.00).

If we are able to resolve the problem or effect the repair but are prevented from doing so because the customer does not possess the required (spare) parts, software CD-ROM or Product Key, then the customer is charged for the time spent to that point – i.e. a maximum of 1 hours labour (£35.00).

If we provide a clear and precise diagnosis of a failed component and the customer decides not to proceed with the replacement of the component, then the customer is charged for our diagnosis time spent to that point or a maximum of 1-hour labour – (£35.00).
