We get asked a lot of questions that are the same or similar, please find the answers to them below.

GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We are open Monday – Friday 10am to 5pm. If those times are difficult for you due to work then please speak with us as we are willing to make arrangements for customers outside of those times if the need arises.

If we look at your machine and we can’t diagnose the fault or we do not know how to fix it then we will not charge you a single penny.

In the case where we spend our time to diagnose the machine and work out what is required to repair it and the customer chooses not to go ahead with the repair because they deem it too expensive then a diagnostic fee of £45 will be payable on collection of the device.

Cash is preferred when you collect your machine. We can also accept payments by bank transfer, you will find our payment details on your invoice, payment must be received before you collect your device.

Due to the amount of charges the payment processors take from small businesses we have chosen not to accept card payments. If the only way you can to get your machine repaired is to use a Credit Card then please have a conversation with us as we may still be able to help.

Routinely we will not need to access your photographs or documents for any reason.

Only where the repairs dictate such as a particular file not opening or problems with software like Microsoft Office not opening then we may need to access files as part of the repair process.

This will depend on the problem that you are having, it is always best to test the machine with your operating system and user account logged in. If this is a problem, you can create a 2nd user account with it’s own password to allow us to login.

Where you do provide the password it is added to your user portal on our CRM and accessed only when we are working on your device.

Yes, we can do this for you, it is a service we provide quite frequently. We would still need to see your device and carry out diagnostics on it to provide an accurate repair quote. We are unable to provide quotes over the phone or provide ‘false’ information on our engineers reports.

You will be provided with an invoice for the diagnostics and the engineers report. Once paid, the report will be sent to you via email. We will be happy to liaise with your insurance company if required.

No, we are exclusively a Microsoft Windows based Repairer. We don’t repair Chrome or Linux based devices either.

Evans house is a big place with lots of different businesses inside it.

We are on the ground floor so really easy to access, as you drive along Norman Street, Evans House will be on your right hand side, you will see a sign for Little Movers, we are next door, you will see a bright yellow door with 2 glass panes in it, come in there and we are the second unit on the right downstairs.

Car Parking is either on street or at either end of the building there is a car park for Evans House that you are more than welcome to use.

DESKTOP COMPUTER REPAIR SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

It’s not something that we advertise due to not wanting to carry lots of stock (we don’t have the space) however we can spec up machines and build them for you. We will also build machines from the parts that you have purchased. Prices differ depending on the type of machine and the products being installed. We will never remove or change the data on your device on purpose.

Sometimes when a machine will not boot or there is a problem not being able to access the drive the data is simply no longer accessable.

We have had situations where a machines hard drive was failing and during the course of trying to take a full backup of the drive it has failed and rendered all of the data inaccessable.

Ultimately you should have a full current backup of your data, we will make every endeavour to save it however we can’t be held responsible for any lost data unless it can be proven that we were negligible in the course of the device repair.

LAPTOP REPAIR SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

This is a really difficult question to answer.

If your laptop requires a replacement screen and we have it in stock we can do the repair within a couple of hours.

Same can be said with a fan problem or a battery replacement.

If your problem is a Windows one diagnosis can taking anything from a couple of hours to 3 or 4 days.

Hard drive failure, with the correct replacement drive in stock 6-12 hours

Data Recovery, how long is a piece of string.

Once we have a complete diagnosis we will be able to provide a much clearer timescale to completed repair.
