The PSP is a very well built machine that doesn't suffer from many faults however users seem to like smashing the screens which are very easy to break and the umd drive that reads the disks can develop faults such as not reading games or becoming noisy and tempremental.
There are 3 different models of the PSP and repair costs differ depending on which model you have. To find out look at the bottom edge of the PSP and the last 4 digits on the end of the white sticker denotes the model number.
This is the most common fault that we deal with on the PSP, generally caused by the user sitting, standing on or dropping the machine and causing the screen to crack.
To repair this we replace the screen with a Sony original warranted for 3 months, prices are as follows.
psp 1003 - £45.00
PSP 2003 - £55.00
psp 3003 - £50.00
If your PSP will not read games, is crashing during game play or the drive is noisy then we can fix this by replacing the UMD drive which includes the motor that spins the disk around and a new laser.
A replacement UMD drive costs £35 fitted and is warranted for 3 months.
Your PSP can develop a couple of power faults, the first simply means that you are unable to power the machine on and the second means that it won't charge. Both faults are related to the power board on the machine and will cost £38 to be repaired.
We can source all of the external plastics for all 3 models of the machines, please contact us for pricing.
