We have been dealing with the repair and upgrade of computer systems since the mid 90s and as a full time business since 2000. In that time we have seen all versions of windows from 3 all the way through to Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 which we have been testing and diagnosing for the last 18 months through the beta test programme.
Before the days when it was cool for everyone to build their own computers after trapsing around the computer fairs, we where building and upgrading them for both home and business users so you can be confident that we have all of the neccesary skills to diagnose and repair your system no matter what the fault.
We spend a lot of time repairing machines that have unfortunatley been infected with a virus and malware, this can happen even if you have virus software installed and upto date due to the ever changing nature of the threats. If a virus is released and spread today it may be 48 hours before the anti virus manafacturers detect and write the sftware to remove it. If you are unlucky in that time frame you could get infected.
If you bring your machine to us, we will remove the virus, make sure that you have adequate security and that it is updating correctly. We will also give your machine a service which includes clearing unneccesary startup programmes, making sure the system is completely upto date and removing all unneccesary temporary files which will speed up your machine.
We dont charge extra for a supposed faster service that still takes 2 or 3 days instead we turn around all of our PC repairs within 48 hours even if that means us working until midnight sometimes because we know what its like when you are without your PC. Whats more we have capped the charges at a maximum of £45, some of these viruses can take hours to find and remove and some result in windows needing to be re-installed after we have backed up your data however you are safe in the knowledge that all you will pay is £45. To book simply call us on 01925 243249 or fill the form in on the contacts page.
Many Many machines come into us with various windows problems, windows maybe booting slowly or coming up with error messages when it does finally boot. It may have driver problems or generally not running the way that it is expected to or has previously. Others have come in failing to update or not displaying a web page even though it has a connection to the internet.
We have years of experience in diagnosing and repairing configuration problems with all of the versions of Windows. We started working with pc's in the mid 90s when they where running dos 6.2 and some had moved to windows 3.1, we installed windows 95 on a pc before cd-rom drives became available and spent hours installing from 26 floppy disk drives. We have worked with windows 98, me, 2000, xp, vista and the latest windows 7, there isn't anything that you can throw at us that we won't be able to resolve.
As with everything it is difficult to write a website that covers every eventuallity regarding how many hours it will take to repair your machine. We do however have a very simple and easy to understand pricing policy, if the repair takes 1 hour or less then the cost is £30, 1 hour or more and the cost is £45 and no more. If you would like to book your machine in please call us on 01925 243249 or fill in the form on the contact page.
Sometimes computers get a little confused as to where they are and how they connect to the internet and no matter what you do you struggle to get it to re-connect. The first thing to try is to shut all the computers in the house (including games consoles or anything else connected to the router) down and then unplug the router for 1 minute before powering back up. Let the router reset before turning the computer on and trying to connect to the internet.
If this doesn't work then our engineer will need to come out as they will need to look at the computer on site and look at the configuration of the router at the same time. Similar pricing structur applies however it is £35 for an hour or £50 for anything over that.
If your machine is connecting to the internet but wont display a web page then please see the windows problems section above.
